Karen Maxwell, a Clinical Assistant Professor at Mercer University, and a member of the Cohort 4 Ed.D. Nurse Educator program, was the recipient of the Judy Bonner Doctor of Education for Nurse Educators Student Award at Honors Day, 2014 at The University of Alabama. The recipient of this award must exemplify creativity, innovation and excellence in teaching, dedication to service in his or her field, and a commitment to scholarship to promote excellence in nursing education. The Nurse Education program is a collaborative Ed.D. program offered by the College of Education and the Capstone College of Nursing at The University of Alabama. Karen is a published researcher and has delivered scholarly presentations around the world. Karen also finds time to offer service to her university, hospital, and community at large.
